Enhanced cash management

Cash, held with judgment.

AvenStead is developing a more disciplined way to see, organize and place idle cash, with reserves, permissions and bank-level detail made explicit before anything moves.

In development. The services described here are proposed and not yet offered.

The problem

Cash decisions are only as good as the view behind them.

For many advisers, finance teams and families, cash sits across several banks and logins, each reporting on its own schedule. Without one current picture, simple decisions take longer than they should, and idle balances tend to stay where they are by default rather than by choice.

  • Fragmented balances

Accounts at different banks, each with its own login, statement cycle and cutoff. Totals are assembled by hand and are often out of date by the time they are shared.

  • Unclear reserve needs

How much should stay on hand for payroll, taxes, distributions or the unexpected is often a rule of thumb, not a documented number that the right people have agreed on.

  • Inconsistent visibility

Pending transfers blur into settled balances. It is hard to tell what is available today, what is in motion and what is simply unknown.

The result is cash that is held, but not managed.

The approach

See. Set. Place.

The intended approach is deliberately simple: understand the full picture first, agree on the rules, and only then consider where surplus cash should sit.

  1. Step 1 of 3

    See

Bring balances, near-term cash needs and the information available from each bank into one view, with every figure labeled as settled, pending or missing.

  2. Step 2 of 3

    Set

Agree on reserves, permissions and placement preferences. The rules belong to you, are documented, and are visible to everyone with access.

  3. Step 3 of 3

    Place

Support allocation of eligible surplus across participating banks, subject to availability, authorization and program terms.

This describes the intended product approach. Capabilities, participating banks and program terms are still being finalized.

Who it serves

One house, distinct expressions.

AvenStead sets the institutional standard. MyTreasurer and CashStead are planned to bring the same standard to businesses and households, endorsed by the same house and held to the same principles.

AvenStead

Institutional

Registered investment advisers, multi-family offices, high-net-worth relationships and partners

Client visibility, documented authority and clarity.

See each client’s cash across entities and banks, act only where authority has been granted and recorded, and explain every recommendation in plain terms. An adviser’s view covers the same accounts the client holds; it is never a separate pool of money.

  • Visibility across clients and entities
  • Authority documented per entity
  • Recommendations clients can follow

An illustrative view

Settled, reserved and pending, never blurred together.

A cash overview built with fictional figures. It shows how the proposed product intends to separate settled cash, the reserve you set and the surplus above it, and to keep pending transfers out of the totals until they settle.

Principles

Commitments we intend to design around.

These principles guide the product in development. They are design commitments, not certifications or independent attestations.

  • Clear permissions

Who can view, recommend and approve is explicit for every entity. Suggestions cannot move money; any movement follows the approvals you set.

  • Transparent assumptions

Forecasts, reserve calculations and any coverage estimates are labeled as estimates, with the assumptions and as-of time shown alongside them.

  • Explicit timing

Transfers follow business days and bank cutoffs. The aim is to show expected dates and status changes, not to promise instant availability.

  • Bank-level visibility

You should always be able to see which bank holds each balance and under which program terms, rather than a single blended number.
